Nicholas Mosse Pottery was established
by Nicholas Mosse in 1976 after periods of training in
England and Japan. His mission was to produce beautiful,
functional pottery in the style of Irish Spongeware.
Irish spongeware was the traditional pottery of Ireland
used in the 18th Century. It was mainly made in simple
honest shapes with a decoration applied with a cut sponge.

Old Rose
Our best loved and most popular pattern. It has a very,
deep red rose pattern which has made it a foundation
pattern for many collectors. Mixes well with other
red florals such as Red Tulip and Apple.
Pear
Perfect pears from the bough to your table. The golden
yellow of ripe pears, the orange checks and splashes
of green colour your special table settings with
warmth.
Dahlia
Dahlia is a classic, warm floral of terracottas and fresh greens, boldly
patterned to enhance and mix with our other florals. The colours are
bang up-to-date and will look at home with naturals, pastels or the new
earth tones.
Landscape
is our range of rurally inspired
pottery. All the detailing on the landscape range
is sponged by hand with additional detailing by hand
painting. In landscape we have used a range of farm
animals, poultry and rural scenes to create a whimsical
world of Irish charm. We encourage you to mix and
match the pieces in landscape to build up a very
pretty and interesting collection. Please note that
due to the time involved in creating some of the
pieces we are unable to offer certain pieces in landscape.
