Castle Arch Pottery

Ray Power, a native of Cork, Ireland, established his Castle Arch Pottery in 1993 in Kilkenny's famous Castle Yard, which sits in the shadow of Kilkenny Castle. Each of Ray's pottery pieces is made in small production batches on the potter's wheel and each piece is fired to 1000c before glazing and re-firing to 1200c. All of his pottery, works of art, are microwave and dishwasher safe. Ray's ranges take inspiration from Celtic patterns such as Newgrange Spirals and traditional Celtic motifs. The Hampton Blue range has a strong connection to the Irish past with Newgrange Spirals embellishing the surface of a deep cobalt blue. The new Pure range includes detailed and extremely intricate patterning with simple lines and a creamy white glaze.
